hi my dhd keeps coming up sim card not inserted restart or shutdown and insert sim card , i have not touched my sim so why is it doing this . also my screen lock sound has gone i have done the battery out reset but still no luck , any help please.

For the screen lock sound i've found that it uses a volume that you can't easily adjust. I found that you can turn up the volume for the locking sound by turning on the cyberon voice commander and when she says "say a command" quickly turn up the volume and that will turn up the volume for the lock sound as well. Not sure if its the same problem you are having with it but that is what worked for me.

Is the sim card loose? Have you tried taking it out and ensuring the contacts are clear?

Very old SIM cards (T-Mobile) has this problem sometimes.
If so, ask your carrier for an exchange.

I just assumed all dhd's have the cyberon voice command app. Mine came with it, if you have it, it will be in your apps list. It is just called cyberon voice. There is also and app called Volume Control Plus and it is free, it will let you control the system volume. You can find it here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cb.volumePlus&feature=search_result

I had the same problem with the sim card when I bought my phone in November last year. Then I found a thread in here suggesting to fixate the simcard using a small piece of adhesive tape. Did it in march and I haven't had this error one single time since:). Seems as a poor simcard slot design from HTC. Try it, I'm 99% sure it will work for you.
