DHD vs Desire S battery

I've just talked my girlfriend into upgrading her handset to a new Desire S and wow, that has one good battery. I know she isnt using her handset as much as me, but whereas mine can lose without doing anything, she is still on 94% since a charge this morning and not even conditioned.

I know its using Android 2.3 but again wow. Makes me wonder whether to factory restore my DHD.

One thing I've found since switching to LauncherPro using one homescreen, 1 widget (Extended Controls), and the 3 docks and even with the same app usage as I had with sense, abusing Facebook and the net etc my battery life seems to have doubled. I think sense batters the battery.

It's a higher capacity battery, the phone has a smaller screen and Android 2.3 has better power management. Is the battery itself smaller? Now I really see can't see why HTC didn't stick a bigger battery in the HD....

Be interesting to see what she gets out of it after a few cycles.

From what I remember its a lot bigger. Where as th DHD one seems to slide in and out the side really easy hers was the whole width of the phone and tough to get in and out. Yet to see it drop below 80-90% for the day before she charges it again.

Only other difference is no Facebook or twitter account setup, purely text and blueyondet email.

Worth a restore on mine?

Just been told her handset wasn't charged last night and on 85% left since coming off charge yesterday morning. That's with a bit of browsing on wifi, couple of calls and texts.

Depends, how long do you get out of your battery?

well she finally managed to drain it last night and was 3 days without a charge. Mine this morning dropped 3% in an hour. Quick call on bluetooth while in car and 2 texts

Tasker with wifi on on but no syncing apart from weather, dropped to 75% now today. Tested installing Green Power and Juice Defender after reading various updated posts on here but with both on, it was dropping a % every couple of mins so just got Juice running now

seems to be too many suggestions about what does and doesn't work and in the meantime, constant playing with the phone makes it possibly worse. Would be good if there was one definitive answer to all the questions regarding battery life.

4% in 2 hours this morning with nothing going. wifi on for 30mins at home, then nothing for 2 hours, no syncing or anything

I don't think so. I've been surprised by sys upgrades more than resets. I'd love to know what's inside that sensation? I got a spare battery that was chunkier, thought it was better but I cannot tell the difference really aside from the HTC one being thinner. DHDs are going to be less power efficient than their model upgrades as a matter of course What does the EVO 3D use? Currently I carry around a number of remote charging devices to run this Desire but I love these phones. Thing is its always on charge after not long enough..whats the answer?

Not sure standard battery. Just found net entry saying its 1450 compared to 1230 on DHD
Its not enough...where can one get an HTC battery or one that fits or the most wicked, powerful usb add on...Either . How come HTC or who ever haven't sussed this. Apple have their internal very efficient battery inside for ethical reasons and functionality but it suks when u want to change a battery and u have to jailbtreak them. Point is why can't HTC just put out a standard usb killer batt pak??

Yeah...if u turn off background syncing even with fb left on any battery does gr8 though the one you described doesn't sound like any battery..
