DI06 update due 9-22

Sprint is set to release DI06 tomorrow. This MR is designed to fix dreaded airplane mode issue and resolve bulk blue tooth upload issues + a few other minor things...

I'll be hitting OTA and sprint.com/downloads first thing...please update if you see it's available.

Good to hear. I think most who still use this phone will be more interested in the next release rumored to address the radio lockup issue. Samsung's certainly changing for the better where smartphones are concerned and that's changing my future device purchasing plans. The Epic is looking much better now.

Agreed. I hope that it comes out quickly and SDX can tie into a new update quickly. It still isn't up yet though.

The update will go out as push to 50,000 as a test to make sure it can be received ota first...not sure how you get on that list. Then it's available OTA, and retail. Continue to check.

The update for download on the sprint site is still DE03. According to Sprint the DI06 update will be OTA only and pushed out in waves. Not everyone will have it available today.

Yep...that's what it says...that is just a listing of all the updates and what they fix. Did you bother clicking on the link to download the software?

It says:
Technical Specifications:
Dated: 5/14/2010
Software Version: S:M900.8.OS.DE03
PC Requirements: Windows 2000-SP4, Windows XP-SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

I did. Took less than 30 secs. Go to settings, about phone, then update firmware. May have fixed airplane mode but as I expected, no fix for data lockup. Wasn't expecting it but was wishing that maybe it would.

Same here. Don't notice any difference in the phone other than the Baseband Version is S:M900.8.OS.DI06. Sure hope this does not interfere with using the Airplane mode to get the data lockup back. That would be a pain because I've had this phone since December and never got the Airplane mode problem.

my firmware is Amstel 2.0 will i get this update being rooted or will i have to wait for a ROM that incorperates this fix?

Probably not. Wait a few days (or less) and it will probably be up on SDX as a standalone patch or incorporated into roms. Besides, would this fix be worth it to you to dump your Amstel and go back to stock?

There are reports of this working on rooted phones with different roms. The update appears to be just a small patch. The entire update process only takes a few seconds so there can't be much involved with it.

I just completed it. Less than 30 seconds and it seems to still be fine. Running Meat Kernel 2.0.9. Seems good. I didn't have airplane mode issues either before so I guess it is just to have the latest stock update.

just did it manually I'm using meat kernel 2.5 and just applied it over it.. the baseband num. changed and everything else seems running as usual..

Yep. Installed over meat/radioactive with no problems.

Now to turn wifi back on and see if the update fixed anything.
