I think the Dialer is very powerful but I am unable to get it to recognize parts of a phone number. For example, most of my saved numbers include area codes (most of them are 'xyz'). When I type the first three of the 7-digit number (excluding the area code) no results show. It seems as though the area code must be typed in order to get results to show. Obviously, almost 95% of my contacts have an area code of 'xyz' and that's, IMO, too many buttons to press to start narrowing down to get a specific contact. Does anyone know how to change this?

I have the same problem, sometimes mine won't even recognize the area code. It works awesome with names, but not numbers. Plus, when you place a call to a number without the area code typed in, it doesn't recognize the contact you called. Wierd. I would like to know if there is a fix as well ...
