Help Dialer notification - "Append country code before number ?"

Hi! I recently updated to FroYo 2.2, and have been struggling since the upgrade with a new notification during number dialing.

If I dial a number with area code (ex: 044-xxxx xxxx) or tap on a contact having a phone number in this format, the dialer throws a pop-up notification - "Append country code before number ? Proposed international format number i.e.+9144xxxxxxxx".

One weird thing I noticed is that if I OPEN a contact, and THEN tap on a number in the same format (044-xxxx xxxx), it goes through fine (without showing the notification).

This is a painful (and unnecessary) extra step in dialing any number.

Searched Google/this forum, but haven't been able to find a solution. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

You could try using our international dialing codes app - World Dialer - to append the needed calling code before the number.

Also, remember that to get the '+' symbol, you need to long press 0!
