Root Dialer suddenly stops workingm and "service disabled" message

Suddenly my dialer stopped responding. It et me go into contacts, and then to the call log, and to a particular person, but when I pressed "call bob", it would simply freeze, and then a "not responding" message and force close option would appear.

also intrestingly, in the drop down window that covers your screen and lets you see the status of your notification icons, like batery time and other notifications, I got a "service disabled" message.
I have CWM, rooted.

Any idea on how to handle this?
Help!
thanks!

Have you done anything to your phone recently? usually things like this wont happen out of the blue so it might be caused by a recent change on the phone?

I Installed an app called "call, control" a call and text blocker.
I have since uninstalled it. aside from all the auto updates to my already existing apps, I haven;t done anything really meaningful.

THanks! this sucks!

If you installed an app that affects your calls and texts it seems like thats where your problem would lie. This would seen logical right but phones are evil creatures that like to play jedi mind tricks? Or I might be missing something.

I'm not familiar with the app.

EDIT- Maybe the app has nothing to do with it. Even though its uninstalled doesn't mean it didn't leave stuff hanging around.

You need to get root explorer and go into the data/apps and data/data folder and make sure nothing was left behind after you uninstalled it.

Also check both SD's and make sure no folders were made. Delete em if so.

All else fails run a backup or re install the ROM your running. I choose the latter. ;)

Easy fuzzy...the man is worried about his phone...its a complex task. I dont suppose you have CWM and a backup of your ROM at a state prior to the installation of the call and sms apk?

Woah. You got me mixed up. Nothing to be easy about. My response wasn't intended to be rude or anything like that. Remember its text on a screen. No need to jump to conclusions like that.

I dont know exactly what app was installed so the obvious answer would be the app but being that it's so obvious I have to "right"? because that app might NOT even have anything to do with the issues. I dont know cause I dont have the phone in my hands. Let me add more to the "right" so no more ill conclusions are drawn.
