Dialing Lag

I don't understand why so many people are blaming the lag specifically on 2.1. Sure it may be apparent on 2.1, but I had much more lag on 1.5. So in other words, the lag issue is not specific to 2.1, but just seems either some app is dragging down the phone, or the Hero hardware can't really handle the Android OS.

BUT... there was NO call lag on 1.5. When I went to make a call on 1.5, it reacted immediatley. Now with 2.1 its give or take. Sometimes it reacts fast, sometimes it takes 20 seconds for the damn call to start dialing.

What you do is simple. Call star2 and say Cancel or press the option. Talk to a manager and tell them how much of an issue the dial lag, etc since the 2.1 update has been. Make them create a ticket for you and keep it open. If the manager just offers you $50.00 - > do NOT accept it and tell them you want them to escalate it to a higher level manger or Mr Hesse. I just got a call from a manager who actually left me her direct-dial # (the first time in 12 yrs) but of course, I missed the call because it would not f...in open. If you still just get offered "an early upgrade to an EVO- tell them NO) and tell them they "NEED TO FIND A SOLUTION-NOW!)-> I know that if everyone who has this issue at least attempts to let Sprint and HTC know how messed up the Hero is now, we will get something going. I for one am looking into Legal options. Join me, as I am really sick of my Hero being a LOOSER phone.

How did you get them to offer an early upgrade? They won't even do that for me! My gf and I are on our second pair of Heros, and of course we're having the same problem. The store management readily admit the phone has problems, but they still can't do anything for us. It's not like we're asking for FREE phones, just the discount everyone else gets. It's their fault, so I wish they'd own up to it.

The dialing lag was one of my biggest problems on 1.5. In fact, the possiblity of getting rid of the dialing lag was my biggest reason to want to upgrade to 2.1. I know this problem on 1.5 didn't affect everyone, just like not everyone with 2.1 is having dialing lag problems.

So all I'm saying is, it's an Andriod OS problem in general, the hero's hardware is too slow, or some app is dragging down the phone, not just a 2.1 issue.

Weird... when I was on 1.5, I never had any dialing lag, which is why its so annoying to me on 2.1, because I never experienced it prior to upgrading. It must vary phone to phone then?

It is weird. My husband and I both have Hero's and it's so odd that we both have problems, but typically completely different problems. Only common issue between us is the general lag.

Just root and try the various roms. That resolved my lag issue on the dailer. Now it comes up and immediately makes a connection.
