Dialpad during a call?

Any apps that make the dialpad show up during an active call? When I pull the phone away from my ear, I don't want to see who I'm talking to, I already know that. Not a real pressing need for me to look at the little green Android guy either.

Instead, that action usually means I need to press a series of numbers for an automated call service. My dialer has a small button in the lower left corner that will bring up the dialpad but I would prefer it be up front and center by default. It's a small thing but if there's something out there to make it happen, I'd be interested.

Yes, that would be very helpful, especially when I'm checking my voicemail - I have to call up the dialpad to hit the 7 to delete the message.
