I don't own an S3 or even a smartphone right now as I don't really need it, so I'm not too sure about a lot of things.
One of my co-workers left her phone on my desk to get it recharged. She does this quite often and it's no big deal as everyone is looking for an available outlet to plug in their phone for recharging around here.
For the first time today, I got bored and just thought I'd take a look at her phone. I touched the screen and there was no apparent password (like a pattern or digits to enter). I just had to touch a certain area of the screen and it opened up to the phones main screen i think.....i clicked on "camera" and just browsed through her photo albums for a few minutes. Then I turned off the phone and left it to recharge.
When she came back about an hour later, she turned on her phone, and she quickly navigated to some sort of screen that seemed to show "activity usage" ...just my guess...cuz the screen had like a graph and bars showing a bunch of high green bars in a certain area of the graph whereas the rest was empty....i interpreted that as the "green bars" must be when I browsed through her phone?
I didn't ask her what she was doing but she asked me if anyone had touched her phone while she was away? Since I was startled and only had a moments notice to respond, I just said, "not that I know of. I was away from the desk."
Now I know of apps on iphones and stuff like "IGotYa" or Cydia that can take a picture from the front facing camera of a person who tries to unlock your phone with a wrong password. But I don't think she had that on her S3. Since I told her I didn't know, i'm really worried now that she might have some sort of program or app that recorded either a video, or picture, or just phone activity logs....
Does anyone who owns an S3 know what she was looking at when she came back to retrieve her phone? As I said, she navigated a couple screens to some sort of "graph" page that showed green bars (in different heights) to indicate usage ...at least that's what I think. I don't know if that monitor tells her what part of her phone was being used OR if it only tells that the phone was in use.
I just want to be sure that it wasn't some program that actually took a picture or a video recording the actual details of the usage. Then i'l have to come clean and tell her, it was me, I just got curious at the phone and browsed through.
We're not strangers, and we're not the closest of friends, but as co-workers, we see each other everyday, talk now and then, but I didn't want to say that I perused through her phone out of curiosity.
We're living in such crazy and scary times where everything we say think and do can somehow be captured and monitored.....i won't be checking her phone again.
After she took her phone, she started playing with someone else's phone (her friend's) and then later on in the day her friend retrieved her phone and knew that her friend used it (the girl whose phone I browsed through) lol. Man...we're all spies.
