Help Did I just get the wrong sized SIM from AT&T?

Here is the SIM card that AT&T snail mailed me for my unlocked GSM Gnex:

It seems too small, so wondering if it's the right size? If not, what do I have, vs what do I need?

I found a SIM card in an old AT&T phone, which seems to fit better:

However, it still says 'No SIM card' when I boot up. I'm HOPING it's because the card isn't activated. However, I noticed that one of the pins in the SIM card holder appears to be broken:

Which I probably did while trying to get the other (smaller) SIM card out that was wedged in there pretty good.

Did I just brick my brand new phone trying to put a f**king SIM card in ?

That's a micro sim. Gnex uses a regular but you should be able to use an adapter or just stick it in there, its tight enough that it should stay in place.

Im at work so can't open the phone up and look, hopefully someone will chime in soon to say if that looks normal or not.

EDIT- Just checked, mine looks same as yours.

EDIT#2- Thought you were talking about space on left with no pin. Yeah, your pin on the right is definitely broken.

It means the phone is defective and you need to send it back
