Help Did I void my warranty?

alxmlr789

Newbie
I updated my phone to the 2.2 through a link i found on a thread here. There was no disclaimer on the link saying this will void my warranty, so i went ahead with it. No that I am doing more research, it seems the I might have voided my warranty due to my impatience :/

Can anyone confirm or deny this? If it DOES void my warranty, how does verizon know that I did a downloaded update rather than an OTA update.

did you use the OFFICIAL OTA update? if you did you r fine, that wont void your warranty.

just undownload it if your that worried but yes rooting does void your warranty but if you unroot they will have no idea that you ever rooted

I'm pretty sure I did use the official one.

I'm not sure how to un download an update, i already stored it on the SD card, and updated the phone with it.

Depends on what method you use. If you used RUU or update.zip you should be fine. Other methods, you're probably SOL.

if your phone is rooted then thats voids your warranty, just like mike1 said.

R u rooted tho?

Dude if you don't know what root is or if your rooted your most likely not rooted. Sounds like you used the update.zip which is the update. Sounds to me like your just fine.

I know what root is, and I'm not rooted lol. But i was just making sure the 93.7mb google update will not ruin my warranty.

well then ur fine. u downloaded the official OTA, its no difference then actually getting the OTA. ur phone is still in warranty
