Help Did the LVD update fix the LG hang on boot?

I've been having the LG hang on boot issue, which is the most annoying part by far with this phone.

However, I'd like to be able to decide between fixing this and having to root my phone for WiFi, or leaving things as-is, and disabling this notification.

So, does this update fix the hang on boot issue?
 
As far as i know all it did was close the back door to the wifi hot spot.

However if your phone is lagging at boot then you may want to remove some apps get a anti virus and check your phone clean out your cache with aCCleaner app which is free and in the market. Or call sprint tech cause i have this same phone and it has never lagged on boot.
 
It's not a freeze- when cold booting or resetting, the phone sticks at the lg logo, and does not boot. It can be booted by plugging it in to a charger with the battery disconnected but that is inconvenient. Someone suggested that this update fixed that, but I would like someone with that issue to confirm before I go through the trouble of updating.
 
actually updateing to VD did fix this for me. I couldnt believe it at first so I even tried vc again just to see if I was crazy. Boy do I feel stupid for saying that but hey we learnt sumthin :)
