Did Verizon give up on the Incredible?

Seems like Verizon has given up on the Incredible. No ads etc which is fine with me. This phone is really Incredible. Im sure the X is a good phone also but I am so happy to have this phone. When I heard the x was coming I was like damn I should of waited but Im glad I didn't.

It just seems like their not advertizing it. They are both on backorder till 8/3 and it seems like the x has alot more accessories and such.

This is not VZW's fault, but HTC's. Droid also had a ton of accessories too, including a dock. Motorola is far more involved in aftermarket support and working with partners to get products out. HTC sucks and always will in that regard. They have gotten too big and are spread too thin. Case in point, they are building a new plant to handle production, which should have been on their capital investment plan already.

HTC will always lag behind Motorola due to far too many devices. Same with Nokia and they are slowly dieing due to getting too big and poor customer support (my N900 is their example for this). HTC seems to be the next Nokia in this regard.

I will not even discuss software updates since like aftermarket accessories, HTC kind of sucks real bad.

I saw two commercials on TV last night for the Incredible. Granted they were the same commercial and it was over a 3 hour period, but they were there...

I'm sure the manufacturers contribute a good portion of the money used to advertise their product. Moto probably has a much larger budget.

I have actually seen the Dinc in a couple commercials lately. Not featured but in a commercial for something and the phone they choose to demo whatever the ad was for was the Dinc.

They've been tying the DInc in ads to the Inception app they have. I saw it time after time on ESPN 3. Ad has nothing the do with the phone, really.

No. Because something is not in stock doesn't mean its a failure.

Can these threads please stop!!!

I've seen ads in the movie theaters for this thing, so I don't think it's completely gone. I'm sure they'd just rather not advertise a phone that you have to wait a month for. I noticed with the Droid X heading that route (backorders) that I've seen the ads toned down for that phone too.

I can tell you one thing they have given up on, and that is accessories for the Incredible.

Hopefully someone steps up to the plate to make them for us...

Id like to see a decent dock and car mount to fit the 2150 battery along with a case...

Same here, I like the exclusivity and I got my big battery now so I'm a happy camper. Soon as the wifes x gets here ill have a 3500 seido to swap in too woohoo! Anyone want to buy an Eris ;)

I just got back from a week in Atlanta and about the only advertisement I heard on the radio (96.1 HD-2, The Alternative Project) was for the DInc so I don't think they have or are giving up on the DInc, at least not yet...

Man I just wish I could get that station where I live....
