Root Difference between Z4Root and TIMS

Hi everyone,

I am new to this android world and have ordered a flytouch 3 from hxxp://www.ebay.in/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130583518342 from ebay. Now it would be delivered in couple of days. My question is that i was googling on rooting and got to know about z4root application and TIMS (lastest version). Can anyone explain me what is the difference between these 2 applications or do I have to use the Z4root first and then use TIMS for rooting the ROM or use TIMS directly as prescribed to root the stock rom

One more question i spoke to the seller and he said that he can give me a disco one however he said he can give me a pre rooted one with TIMS 6a installed. Can you confirm with that be ok?

Thanks

The tablet you are purchasing is one that I would recommend, and if the seller is offering to do it for free, then ask the seller to install tim6a on, you will be most happy with that solution.

z4root is a single application that roots the tablet as it arrives with the stock rom installed, tim6a is a whole new rom that is pre-rooted for you already.

Just ensure you get the warranty you are looking for.

Hi thanks for the response. I had a word with him and he said it will be covered under warrenty. So ill ask him to give me a DISCO model with TIMS 6a installed and use without any issues, Correct?

Also are there any screenshots/steps that I can use to check if the pad is already installed with TIMS latest version.

Just got a call from him. It will have a 5v charger with it and the PJ01 (which is fake as per the google) has a 9v charger. Will it matter?

Perfect, imo of course.

Check Tims Tips page SuperPad2 Flytouch3 Tim Rom Tips and you should see all those items that is mentioned already on your tablet if it is pre-installed.

Not sure about the chargers, the item you mention does have a 8000mAh battery, and different regions have different chargers, but as long as you get what the seller is suggesting, it will be ok.

Hi,
got the pad and rooted it sucessfully with the Tims new release. Working good as of now. I have few questions. How can I install all the apps on the default system memory which is 16 gb.

2. How can I increase the senstivity of the touch.

3. any steps to be taken to increase the efficency of the tab.

Apps install to the android default system space, 4 gb is used for this, the other space 12gb is for you & your data.

Sensitivity - by using a straight fingertip and your fingernail together, use your fingertip as if you were writing with a pen, it is resistive so you have to use resistance.

Don't install all those apps you will not use, test them - keep them or remove them - do not leave them there. The less activity going on in your tablet - the better. Apps like to constantly check that wi-fi is ready & check for updates, so learn how to turn all this off and do manual updating.

It is a cheap tablet, it does not work as good as other tablets, but it is not bad for the money, surfing the web, emails, reading ebooks, doing some small stuff it is great, harder stuff and you need a better tablet :)

cheers,

Hi thanks for response.

Will do what suggested. Couple of more questions. I tried to connect a external hard drive. It shows as udisk 1 and u disk 2 (dont know which one is correct one as both show any information) under SD card and memory option. So i looked under my pad option still no go. I have seen on youtube videos that it is possible to connect a external hard drive.. Any tips on how to achive it.

secondly i heard good deal about dolphin browser HD however when i try to install it from market it says no phone linked to your accout. Shall i downoad in on computer and then install it on the tablet?

You have to mount the udisk 1 or 2 as appropriate, try using a USB flash drive to get to know which does what, then you can try using your external USB hard disk, most hard disks work - but not all.

SuperPad2 Flytouch3 Tim Rom Tips - look for USB NTFS disks

And yes, you will find that finding apps via your PC will always be the best way to get apps onto your tablet :)

thanks will do. it is able to read pen drives but not my tshiba hard drive. let me fiddle with it to learn more. One more there ia a app called Gscript which can be used to turn on and off the app when needed. However when I open it it does not show me any thing and says auto close. Am i missing anything.
Secondly any must have apps that I need to have it on the tablet.

also i forget any wonderful e book reader which has a zoom function,. I am using akido something better then thois

Also do i need to enable usb debuiing. cause I tried to install dolphin browser and it sais error in parsing the application

For ereaders I have the Kindle app, FBreader and Adobe's PDF reader, all apps allow zooming in and out. And all available from android market via the Flytouch. With these installed there isn't an ebook I can't read. I also have Calibre installed on my laptop, which can convert between most ebook formats, sometimes it doesn't work but in general its pretty good at converting, but with the 3 apps above its not very often I need to convert these days.
