Root Difference in unrEVOke's

If someone has the time, can you explain the deiiferenc in UNREVOKED 3 & UNREVOKED Forever?

I am slightly confused...

Forever used to be flashed after running unrevoked in versions 2.x and older. Starting in version 3.x it is flashed as part of the rooting process. It is permanent unless you flash the s-on tool to reverse it.
