Help Different Wifi issue

concreteguy

Newbie
I can't connect to one of the many password protected Wifi networks. I made at least 2 attempts using the wrong password(forgot it). I now have the correct password, but the "CONNECT" button is not useable. This has got me stumped. I tried searching for similar situations like this, but didn't find any. This is the first issue I've had since switching to the M8. The guy in charge of the network is on vacation, but I'm thinking it is my phone, not the network.

If your sign-in is the same as a work e-mail (IE:OWA),it very well could be a mistake on the IT Dept side.

A co-worker of mine had a similar issue,where our WI-FI & email data/ID's/log-in credentials are the same & they had his WI-FI log-in lumped into the wrong sub-category (non-staff).

This is not a work network. They have a staff network which would also give one access to the office printers, and a guest network. It's a shame that Wifi passwords can't transfer to new phones like most everything else.

It was worth a shot.
I'm staying subscribed to this thread,I'd like to see the outcome/resolution of this issue.
Hope you get it resolved soon.

I see your picture, suggest that turn off 3G first, and turn off wifi setting,
and turn on wifi setting again, and try to enter the wifi password.
Maybe there's conflict between 3G and wifi , i guess, you can try it.

Are you sure that password is correct? I believe it needs to be at least8 characters long, I only count 7 dots. Even if it is only 7, add a random character to the end just to see if connect is available, will help narrow down the issue. My connect button does not become selectable until I enter at least 8 characters.

Sorry to get back so late. It's been a hectic time. I knew I had the password wrong. When I increased the number of characters (to 8), it finally allowed me to attempt to connect. I either still have the password wrong or there is another issue as I still cannot connect.
