Digital Clock Widget

Dexmac

Lurker
Hello!

I've installed this widget and it's great but, when I connect my HTC Desire to my PC via USB and then disconnect it, the widget disappears leaving the following message in its wake: 'Problem Loading Gadget'.

Any ideas?

Is it installed on the SDCard? If so then when you connect to your PC, in 'storage mode' (or whatever they call it) then the SDCard can't be accessed thus any apps moved to the card don't work.

That's right, Dave and I understand that. It's when I disconnect the cable, the SD card remounts but the clock fails to appear.

I've tried to install the widget without the SD card in the phone but the app reports this during the attempt: 'Application cannot be installed in the default install location'.

It sounds like you have the SD card set as the default install location.

Go into the applications menu and move any apps whose widgets you use to phone rather than SD. Widgets on SD will break when you reboot the phone, as well as when you mount the card over USB, and there's nothing you can do about this apart from not save the app to SD.

Excellent, Hadron - thanks very much! Actually, after removing the widget as you advised, the reboot was necessary to get it to appear again in the widget list for re-inserting on the desktop.

Cheers!!!
