Help Digitizer Issue

Just got a warrantied Triumph a few weeks ago and nearly everything is great, but it seems the digitizer is ungodly noisy. When scrolling the digitizer seems to read wrong on the X axis, bouncing violently back and fourth about a quarter of an inch when the finger is stationary. It is mostly tolerable, but an annoying amount of time it drives swype crazy or sends a web page scrolling violently left or right when I meant to click a link. This is my third triumph in 15 months and the only one to have this problem.

Might there be a way to remedy this in software or is it only a hardware problem?

I'm running [ROM] Virgin Mobile Revamp, but I wouldn't think a ROM would be at issue.

Get another replacement, 3 in 15 months. You haven't even started yet, I went through 6 phones in 2 months, at one point I actually had 4 Triumphs sitting on my dresser!

I've had this on my triumph sometimes. Especially when standing out in the cold, I'd be trying to type something out and it'd just be hitting keys all over the keyboard except the ones I was trying to hit. When lever this happened to me, turning off the screen and turning back on usually helped, but getting out of the cold was usually the end-all solution.

WHAT?
This wasn't a known problem? Damnit! I couldve asked for a replacement but my warranty was out like 3 days ago. This only happens to me when my fingers are wet/oily.
