Someone plz reply, how do you connect the screen digitizer to the mother board, I got a new screen and I'm trying to connect it but its not working

Have you damaged the the connector or forced it on the wrong way . maybe you have a damaged digitalizer or the wrong one

The digitizer is new, I I'm not sure how its suppose to connect, I just need an explanation on how to do it

I cannot tell what step you're at.

[ADDED LATER EDIT****]
[This hodgepodge of steps that may be able to be seen as some sort of guide will be appended to add ground breaking new information.

This information will consist of, it is possible to remove the PCB that has the minSD card and whatever meter on it. this makes is MUCH easier to lift the light brown tab, the place the ribbon cable in the correct spot and close the light brown tab.

Hate to admit I was not even doing the light brown tab correctly. This tab is a semi positive locking mechanism.

So to disassemble the phone, remove the PCB with the miniSd, lift the tab, remove the ribbon cable, then reverse the steps when you reassemble. Damn, isn't learning fun!!!!]

If you have not yet watched the rather poor vid on youtube on how to disassemble an Avid then do that. The vid is hilarious. IDK what kind of drugs the guy is on but he sure has a collection of pill bottles in what is likely the worst vid of this kind ever made.

The vid stops before it shows you how to remove the screen.

Also do not bother with trying to remove the entire white sticker under the battery, just cut the sticker along the bottom of the two large silver colored metal flaps. You can see the top of these flaps when you take the battery out. The vid shows the flaps uncovered.

To remove the screen you have to pry the glass from the frame. The glass comes out the front.

Clean off all the tape on every surface on the frame.

Get new two sided sticky tape, place the tape on the frame, in every spot that used to have tape.

slide the ribbon cable back through the opening in the top of the frame, then press the new glass into the frame.

You need two sided tape to affix the part of the ribbon cable with the small pcb on it to the phones circuit board. This is placed just above the camera.

while placing the ribbon cable in that spot you have to slide the end which should be on your left when looking at the phone from the back, the end with the connectors.

Slide that under a light brown colored tab the is underneath the pcb to the left of the camera.

There should be a line on the ribbon cable, get the line even and as close to the top of the light brown tab as possible.

What I found is this connection sucks and is likely the main reason most people hate this phone.

To make mine work better I cut off the ribbon cable from the broken glass, the end with the connectors, as close as possible to the part of the cable with the PCB on it.

I then inverted this connector so the insulating side faces the new cable. I slid this cable section above the light brown flap. I then used what I call booger glue and forced it between these two cables.

My reasoning for doing this is to keep the new cable forced onto the connectors. The manufacturers design of not having some kind of positive locking mechanism, past double sided sticky tape is idiotic.

I figured the glue, which I crammed between the cables with a small screw driver would add force to the top of the new connector and keep it connected.

So far my phone has worked better than ever. That was until I knocked it off a table into a cup with just enough water in it to get the power button good and soaked. Now the phone does not turn off, or on, but at least it's stuck in the on position, so I can either take out the battery or plug in a charger it wakes up. Hopefully I 'll figure out how to fix this and then ride this phone till it disintegrates.

pcb, PCB = printed circuit board. - I also use it in this description to mean printed circuit.

booger glue - that glue you get on the back of credit cards, or glue dots, that stick to your finger like a booger you can't flick off.

Regarding using the ribbon cable upside down with the booger glue. The connector for the digitizer winds up being covered by a PCB that includes the miniSD, and what I assume is some kind of light meter for the camera. IDK it could be range finder though I think most cameras now days use a software focus feature.

The light meter, or whatever, is held firm and in place by the case that you will be snapping back on once you're finished. MY take is the case holding this meter in place will also force the repurposed ribbon cable and the booger blue down on the new ribbon cable's connection.

FYI, and this is a real pain, make sure the digitizer works before snapping the case back together. To do so you have to hold the battery in place with one hand, wait for the phone to boot, and then use the phone. Believe me holding the battery while trying to use the phone can be a HUGE pain. If you can try to have someone else either hold the battery in place or use the phone.

Um thanks, but I already bought a new avid

Cool.

At least if you have issues with that one then you may have a decent idea on how to replace the digitizer.

Also, if the digitizer starts to malfunction in spots or start to give you issues, it may be helpful to check that connection first.
