fex: One thing you might want to take into consideration regarding the ad-supported vs paid versions, is that only user from certain countries can buy apps. If you only release it as a paid app, users from the other countries will not be able to use it (unless they root their devices an use MarketEnabler, like I do :p).

That's why I recommend that you do release an ad-supported version, regardless of whether you also release a paid ad-free version or not. And if you release one version shortly after the other, I recommend that you release the ad-supported version first so everyone can download it as soon as it comes out :)

I'm really looking forward to the game and it has been fun to watch it progress and gain popularity. I'm with Roze on this one. I think putting out a paid and an ad based version get you the most attention. Personally I was thrilled to pay for the ad free Angry Birds when Amazons app store opened(even if it was a pain to get the store running). I'd much rather give a couple of dollars to a developer. especially one that has been as active as you fez, then have to deal with annoying and often ill-placed ads, but I understand the reasons for supporting it.

Fex, if you do decide to put in ads (I prefer you don't) please for the love of God DON'T put them somewhere that makes the game unplayable! Angry birds decided to post it up right over where the score shows and I had to put my phone on airplane just to play the friggin game! You seem to be putting a lot of thought and effort into this game (which i appreciate) so you probably wouldn't do something dumb like that, but just making sure;)

We're still tweaking the physics a lot, but I couldn't help but notice he was kind of holding his finger down even after making a jump, which dragged him down quickly immediately after takeoff. I've actually just added in a delay to prevent this from happening. :)

Hello all,
I've been watching this thread for a while, new user. Just wanted to post a comment to fex about "holding down too long." I hope the delay that you've added doesn't make it too easy. I think some of the difficulty in the game should be learning when the best time to release is, as well as using it to your advantage when you want to hit a closer hill. I'm sure you're progressing with the game nicely, I just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Super excited for it!

I joined this site so I could check on updates easier. Looks like a lot of fun since Tiny Wings hasn't come out for Android yet.

Yea i was thinking the exact same thing. I dont think you should make a delay. I think people just need to learn when to have their fingers held down and when to bring them up :)

Oh man. I really don't mean to tease you guys, but after almost 7 solid hours of playtesting and tweaking the physics, this is really starting to feel incredible. I'm having a hard time peeling myself away long enough to finish everything that's left to be done! ;D

Either way, my to-do list is down to 11 items, and I'm planning on knocking out at least one more tonight, maybe two. At some point in time, I also want to take a new video for you guys, just to show how much better the game is looking since the last time, but I'll try to stay focused on programming. XD

I do not want to make any promises, but I would be very surprised if this game does not hit the market this weekend.

Hi, Fex! I have been following your game for quite a while now. I have to say that I am very impressed with your dedication and abilities. I just wanted to know how you got started in game design. I have tried before and not gotten anywhere.

Almost entirely self-taught. Full story after the game is finished. ;D

Hey Fex are you planning to have openfeint intergration?

Been looking in to it, not sure if it's possible in AIR. Not giving up easily, though, will continue looking.

Worse comes to worse, I'll push the game with local-only scores, and integrate a custom scoring database in a patch.

will there be daily challenges of some sort like in tiny wings or at least something similar because the challenges are really fun

There will be challenges with rewards. I also love the idea of a daily challenge, but can't make promises until I see how much work gets done over the next couple of days. :)

Fex, Posting the HTC Inspire 3rd party apps crack and beta video up in about 10min.! I'll email you the YouTube link also.
