Help Dinc Does a Semi-Factory Reset on it's Own

I'm hoping someone has encountered this before - thought I don't think it's SkyRaider because I've had it happen before I rooted - but this is getting frustrating...

I changed my battery today, and upon reboot, the phone started up like it had been factory reset - but not quite. It was still loading SR4 (latest version available) - but NOT loading into Launcher Pro (my default launcher) and then automatically throwing a bunch of FC's for every app that tied to open on boot. Once I got through all of those, it just goes back to the SR4 Sense home screen like I'd just installed it - except all my apps are still there in the app drawer. I checked my SD card, and everything is still there. So I'm thinking it's got to be a corrupt preference or something?

As I've said, this has happened a couple of times before - both while I've been on the road and not able to get online and get some advice - so I basically ended up reinstalling everything from backups and my last nandroid backup - which isn't too bad, but still a PITA.

So, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd sure appreciate them. Thanks for your time!

Are you making sure the phone is completely off before you pull the battery?

Well, yes, I'm pretty sure it was. Waited for shutdown, screen was off, all button lights off. But who knows?

Last time it happened, it was a spontaneous reboot - not during a battery change. :/

A bunch of people have reported similar issues in similar situations. It happens whenever the phone doesn't unmount the it's partitions properly when shutting down. You might want to try reformatting your sd card. I don't think anyone has found an exact cause to making it happen.
