DInc Facebook App

[andy88488]

I'm a little confused about this, I'm hoping someone can help me. Does the Facebook app that came with the Droid Incredible come from Facebook or HTC. I'm under the impression that this is an HTC app.

If so, does it make sense to update to the new Facebook app? Do we lose any functionality if we change from the HTC app to the native Facebook app? Is HTC going to update the native Facebook app to provide new features?

Thanks,

Andy

Install the latest and greatest Facebook from the market. Keep the HTC version if you sync your Facebook contacts with your address book or your Facebook events with your calendar, as those will only work through the HTC app.

The only people who know if HTC will upgrade their version are HTC, and maybe VZW if it is already in testing.

FWIW, if anyone reads this thread, it appears that installing the Facebook app removes your access to the HTC Facebook app. However, Facebook integration remains intact in the HTC People app.
