Root Dinc2 2.3.4 root question.

So I have the droid incredible 2 and it was updated when i got it i got it new from verizon. I then went ahead and followed a downgrade and root tutorial that rooted my phone and made it S-OFF, well i then installed some kind of image that restored my phone to stock rom and i upgraded it back up to the most recent version. I just checked and i still have s-off and i still have the revolutionary hboot with the most recent rom, doesnt that mean i should be able to root the phone? isnt s-on the only thing that stops the rooting process? WHat can i do to try rooting it.

Tried to update what? Where did you get your ROM image? Did you install a custom recovery? I recommend 4ext.
Okay, to your question, i downloaded the superuser app from the market and tried to update the su, it failed said no su was present. So this is what i did, i downloaded the cwm-4.0.1.4-vivow.img and used the android-win-tools.zip to install clockwork mod from hboot and then installed the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip through clockworkmod. I am now rooted on the most recent Oficial Rom.

I just went into HBOOT and this is what it sais at the top

then went into recovery which is obviously a revolutionary its a blueish purple sais
Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4
at the top and has REVOLUTIONARY in the background

Basically here is everything I did
I started with 2.3.4 when i got my phone, i then followed the downgrade and root tutorial to get S-OFF using revolutionary method
I then flashed a file in HBOOT which was supposed to take me back to stock rom and i updated that using the settings>update feature i did this 4-5 times updating from verizon. It then finally said there were no more updates, i also noticed that the little thing that shows how much service i have changed from having i think 4 bars to haveing a total of 5 possible bars, dont know if that was just me thinking there had been less before but i thought that was different. after that i noticed i still had S-OFF in HBOOT so i flashed a SWM file by connecting the phone to the computer in fastboot menu and then flashing a cwm-4.0.1.4-vivow.img file, i then disconnected the phone from the computer and booted into recovery from there i flashed su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and then i had root on what i think is the most recent version 2.3.4
