Ding - wifi notifications!

Hey,
I walk along the street in town listening to my tunes and several times I get a ding - its a notification of an open wifi network or one for BT or O2 of which I am entitled to use.

Is there any way to turn the sound off?

Happy with the notification area display but want to turn off the sound. I can't see in either of the above apps how to do this - there doesn't appear to be any setting, and I can't find it in the phone main settings.

thanks

Just out of curiousity, is the ding you hear your default notification sound??? I've got around this by setting my default notification sound to silent and then setting any notification sounds that I do want (messages etc) using in-app settings.

Try the system sounds. Try turning them off. Only bad thing is that it might also turn off the warning sound for your battery

Absolutely. I did this on about day three of owning my Note 3. Those notification sounds were SO annoying.

Uninstall the apps, that's what I did, then when I need to find a hotspot, I turn on wifi, and see whats there to connect to, all up and surfing in less than 20 seconds, a lot less hassle than installing the apps and letting them do it automatically when you don't even need it, also saving battery ;)
