Root Dirty Unicorn Problems? (lengthy)

Currently the only problems I have are with the cpu settings, the temp, wifi, airplane mode, and forceclosings. I live where there is little to no signal from any cellphone company so i leave my phone on airplane mode and use wifi. sometimes when i have wifi turned off and go to turn it on, it says turning on but just sits there saying that until i do a reboot. the second of the problems is with service. I am able to use my service but i usually have to toggle airplane mode on and off repeatedly until it works and, once i finally get the service to work, my phone's temperature goes up to about 106-110 degrees F even though i have it underclocked to 1026MHz. next is that on occasion, the cpu will change back to 1504MHz without me setting it. The last of my problems is random apps such as facebook, email, and a few others randomly force closing all of the time.

If any one has any ideas on how to fix these problems, it would be very much appreciated.

*some side notes- I use performance control to change the cpu settings and i have acid sound mod v14 for the evo 3d installed and i am currently on DU2.0 and have had this problem since the first version i've used which was 1.8*

We need some specifics: Are you S-off? Rooted? What Hboot are you running? What recovery are you running? Did you check MD5? Did you install a different kernel? I personally have not had issues with DU other than the noted changelog Issues IE: No 3d, broken ringtone etc.

I am on jb 1.5 hboot, i am s-off, have the stock kernel on DU, and i'm using 4ext recovery. could it possibly be an app such as rom toolbox that i used to change the boot animation?

also one more question. how do you disable the in app menu button? I prefer the capacitive button to it.

Well from what I read problems did start to pop up in the 1.8 version.
Dirty Unicorns v1.9.1
- Settings: Disabled reset of SystemUI when enabling Dark & Dirty (see note #1)
- Mms: Added quick emoji button next to text input
- System: Reverted all OpenPDroid patches (see note #2)
- System: Added media scanner mod in Settings/Developer options
- System: Switched to Mike's latest AOSP kernel (prebuilt)
- RC: Restart SystemUI when enabling Auto Hide statusbar
***Note#1: This was causing data to turn off until toggling airplane mode on/off on multiple devices.
***Note#2: This was removed solely on the fact that it was denying cell tower locations and causing issues with certain apps and MMS
As for rom toolbox...I don't like this app it does "to much"; it tries to combine every rom management tool out there. Do you have other management tools installed? IE SetCPU, Kernel tuner etc..because if you do one might be conflicting with another.

i haven't used kernel tuner on this rom and i only use rom toolbox for installing bootanimations since it has a large collection you can download from. I use the built in performance tool to change cpu settings which are currently Max-1026MHZ Min-384MHz io scheduler-deadline and governor-smartassv2.

I found out how to take the menu out of the apps but when i disable it in rom settings, it causes systemui to continuously force close.

IMO the developer is pretty good about reviewing issues but won't bother without a logcat. Sounds like something maybe you can post in one of the supported forums by the developer with a logcat for him to review to get it fixed.

I made an account on their site but never received an email to activate my account.

Ive had some of the same issues with DU but I also use ROM Toolbox Pro & I set the overclock speed through the app. instead of the roms performance control setting. I set it to start at boot, never changes again, my evo runs a bit hot too oh well! other than that Im soff and 1.50.50.50 just like you!

To make the performance settings stick, you have to turn "set on boot" on. Then it works.

i have apply as boot enabled after it boots, it has the settings i set but it seems overnight while i have it charging or just randomly during the day it changes the cpu max frequency back to 1504MHz without me setting it.
