Help Disable auto lock when you hit the power button?

I dont have any reason to want to long press a power button for six seconds to reboot rather than long pressing it for two to power off (with code enabled) and spending another two seconds to power back on.............

All while waiting the additional 13-14 seconds for the phone to turn off before it can be started again along with the multiple keystrokes required to perform the same function? Whatever, I'm glad the code works for you.

We agree to disagree.

Sorry didn't realize your phone is in such a state that it now takes 13 seconds to power off :-O
It seems that I have upset you as indicated by your quoting me and threeplying so for that I apologize but indeed the code works wonderfully for those who are looking to disable the lock screen and arent in urgent need of rebooting in warp speed

My biggest issue with the screen, is when you manually turn off using the power button (to save battery life) it automatically locks the phone. If you have a lock set up the and hit the power button, it locks instantly. Th HTC phones options allow you to choose the time before the lock, Samsung only lets you choose the time when the screen automatically shuts off...HUGE ANNOYANCE! Is there an option I am missing? I dont want to have to leave my screen on for minutes to avoid this... :( After a few days of serious use on this phone, this is the major issue I cant get over.

I still wish Google would just add a second option that says "Always engage screen lock when power button is pressed" and then let the user decide if it does it or not. I too hit the power button to turn off the screen... I do it the moment I look away from it usually...then 5 seconds later I might say "oh yeah, let me look this up" and now I've got to put in my pin/pattern/etc.

I've tried No Lock, but that's not what I want. I want my lock to be "enabled" all of the time, but I don't want it to engage until X minutes of inactivity...regardless of whether I hit the power button or not".

I tried the *#*#7594#*#* code, but it (along with many others) do not appear to work on the Galaxy Nexus. If anyone else has any thoughts, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I'm just tossing around my opinion. :P

I actually bought an app called Password Delay...it basically does what my EVO used to do, hi the power button and the screen just turns off. Set the options in Password Delay and it will lock it in the amount of time selected
