Disable Cut/Paste Feature?

Here's why I'm asking- on my rooted TB I'm running swype. When the word I swype isn't correct I tap the incorrect word and options come up to choose a different word. The only problem is that the copy/cut/paste menu pops over my choices and I can't make the correct choice. This happens in my IM program (gtalk) most often, as well as in Handcent.

Any ideas?
