Help Disable Droid sound on Boot Animated screen

Anyone find a way to do this without rooting yet. I don't mind the animation but I hate the droid noise everytime I turn on the phone.

it may be a pain, but depending on how much you hate the sound, i believe you can turn the volume off or to silent before you turn the phone off and that will make the sound go away when you turn it back on

Yeh, I know that works but I was hoping there was a way to save a blank .ogg file or something to stop it.

try an app called silent boot, sometimes it works and others it doesnt for people

you can easily do it with root though various ways

Silent boot works but it mutes ALL sounds, including your ringer. You have to go into settings or use a widget to manually set the phone to "normal" each time you reboot the phone.

Not much better if you ask me.
