Help Disable keyboard backlight

Greetings all! Great forum!

I am wondering if there is a way to disable the backlight on my physical keyboard. I use the keyboard for gaming and would love to save precious battery life by disabling the backlight.

I know when the battery gets low the keyboard backlight shuts off automatically so thus, I am hoping it can be done.
