Help disable mobile sites

I'm trying to stop my stock browser loading mobile sites.

I went down the about:useragent route and set it to desktop but it keeps switching back to custom. it worked for sky news but imdb is still going straight for the mobile site.

Any ideas?

You can try this Guide to viewing things in Desktop mode on a Galaxy S2 though a lot of people don't seem to get the option (I think it's network specific or something) but it might be worth a try. You next best option is to use Boat Browser though.

There IS a permanent fix, but I do not have a link handy. Might've been a modded browser APK.

I use Dolphin browser with desktop and mobile mode toggle.

You need to be rooted and place a modded browser apk into your root directory, the mod adds a desktop only option, I dont like dolphin, much prefer stock browser
