Is there a way to disable the power on button on the top right side? I would like to still use it for power off but disable power on or at least set the time delay to a higher value. I keep accidentally turning the device on when putting it in my pocket. The button is not needed for power on as far as I can tell, the home button can be used for that.

I'm not aware of an app for that. However, a phone case might help since it extends the phone outward slightly on all sides of the button (the button comes through a hole in the case) This makes the buttons more "recessed" and harder to push accidentally. A side benefit is some degree of extra protection if you drop your phone.

I know that performs the same function as the power button for screen off/on, but does it disable the power button?

It should help with the OP's pocket problem. It does not disable the Power button though.

I guess maybe it responds to prox sensor to temporarily disable screen (?)
