Help Disable the lit search button?

Is there a way to disable the search button? The lit one that's on the bottom right. It looks like a magnifying glass.
I'm constantly bumping into it by accident when I watch movies or when I turn my phone sideways. I never ever use it.

If you knew how to go in and hack which file .. probably. I'm not sure of another way unless there is some kind of app that will do it but I haven't seen any.

I'm on stock 4.0.4. There's a 'Touch key light duration' under the display setting, and I set it to always off.
