Root Disable the stock music app?

I started using MixZing lately and it bothers me that when I try to use the music controls on my bluetooth headphones the stock music app takes over. Is there a way I can disable the stock app (or if I remove it altogether will that cause other problems?)

you can delete it. Easy to get rid of with Titanium backup or just delete music.apk from /system/app
