Root Disable voodoo for froyo?

If, and I know it's a big if, Verizon finally releases a froyo update for the fascinate, should I disable voodoo (lag fix) before updating?

If you are rooted with a custom recovery...best bet is to wait for jt and company to.release an updat.zip version of any ota....a lot less of a headache than going back to stock...

However if its released by jt (otlr whoever) without a voodoo kernel then yes you would have to.disable voodoo

Im* kinda* sure that froyo voodoo5 kernels can be flashed over eclair voodoo kernels....but im not 100% sure on that one

I haven't done anything besides install voodoo to fix the lag. I think as per our last conversation you recommended that I install a custom ROM (cj or something?) and the latest voodoo, but I waited hoping that froyo would fix the lag and I wouldn't need voodoo.

It was dj05, not cj. I just want whatever will make my fascinate run with the best performance and stability... Nothing fancy, just well.

Atm you are probably ok then....you might want.to check out jt superclean 0.9....but backup first in case you find yourself missing some of the samsung apps

I don't think I even use any samsung apps. None of their terrible widgets and surely not touch wiz or whatever it's called.

Doesn't ROM manager screw up by popping you into the wrong (green, non-Voodoo) recovery?

Do everything in CWM. Makes life simpler.

I would assume it does screw it up...,geez hadn't even thought of it considering i haven't backed up through rom manager...,since i've had this phone......cwr is always the better choice
