Disabling apps

If the disable option is blocked (the button is greyed out) is there any other way to freeze/disable an app without root? I don't think there is but I've been wrong before.

I think the only way would be with root, and then Titanium Backup (or another similar app) that can freeze or remove apps.

There are still more stock apps that can be disabled or un-installed. These are just the ones I did. You can get rid of most of them, with the exception of 2 or 3 apps.
