Help Disabling Mobile data traffic through SIM card

Hi friends and experts.
I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray ST18i. I am facing two issues while using internet :
1. It is unable to connect to internet through wifi on Linksys router WRT54G(I have). On others it connects fine and on my router(Linksys WRT54G) all other devices (My Laptop, Nokia X6, Sony Xperia 10 etc) are connecting fine.

2. I am unable to turn off data traffic. The moment I turns it off, after 2 minutes it is turned on automatically. It used data traffic through SIM card even when wifi is available and connected, thus increasing my mobile bill. For this I tried DroidSansTweakLite app, one more app also and tried to change APN names in the phone, but all in vain, Nothing worked.

I will be thankful to every member, who tries to help me and resolve my problem.

Thanks in anticipation.......

1. what security are you using on the router?
2. Go to menu>settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>uncheck the use data packet part.

Friend, there is no "menu>settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>uncheck the use data packet part" link in either my mobile nor my router. I have tried with all Security features and even with open security also.

I was talking about mobile on part 2.

Second of all, its impossible that the phone does not have a similar menu item to what i posted because its standard menu, otherwise you wont be able to control your phone's settings. it may be labeled differently on your phone but its there.

Go to your phone's settings menu directly from homescreen, its accessed by pressing the menu button. its a hardware or capacitive button, its not on the screen. many people confuse "menu" button as the button that opens the app drawer. Its usually the leftmost button. Go to the settings, then select whatever option has a name closes to "wireless and network". Somewhere in that menu is a setting called "use packet data", and uncheck it. That particular item exists in a Samsung galaxy series, in HTC phones, in Motorola phones, and in an Arc, so its impossible to not exist on your phone unless probably you have a chinese imitation thats not really Android.

This option disables usage of mobile network internet.

To be honest if the Data Traffic option is enabling itself after being turned off and it is using GPRS even when you are connected to WiFi, then there is a problem. I would advise running a repair via PC Companion to resolve this particular issue.

In regards to the WiFi connectivity issue, you may wish to try rebooting the router and downloading an application called Wifistatic from the Market to get this working.
