Help Disabling notifications - Meebo

Hi
I have a new HTC Wildfire S & have installed Meebo (mainly looking for a chat app to work between Androids and iPods - any good recommendations would be welcome)
I would like to set it that there are no notifications visible on the phone - so not to have personal stuff pop up at work etc.
Please can someone help me

Can you turn off notifications in the meebo app itself? Normally, when you open an app you can hit the menu button on the phone itself and you'll get additional options?

Another option is killing its usual permissions with Autostarts, disabling data regularly via something like JuiceDefender, or of course doing it in-app.

If your app is really that bad, maybe you should consider a Meebo client made by somebody else. There are many options available on the market, and many of them offer other networks and have very good customer/public reviews.
