Help Disappearing SD Card apps after plugging into PC

I put a new mp3 of my phone every few days. Everytime I connect my phone to my PC using the usb cable and the usb mass storage option the applications from my SD card that are on my home page disappear.

Is there anyway to fix this?

No. What's happening is that your SD cards (both internal and external) are dismounted from Android so that they can be mounted as USB drives on your PC. They can't be mounted to both points at the same time with the current design. When you unplug from the PC, they're automatically remounted to Android.

The apps on the home page completely disappear and don't come back. In other words if I have the hotmail app saved to my SD card and it's on my home page, once I put the phone into the usb charge mode it will never return to my home page even long after I'm disconnected.

I pretty much just took all the home page apps and moved them to the internal storage to fix this, it was just frustrating me.

I had to do the same thing. Additionally, all the SD Card apps' shortcuts were disappearing from my home pages, following boot-ups.
Hello, caching?

Very annoying!

I'm new to Android and am having this exact same problem, so I have a couple of questions.

1) How do I tell whether an app is using the SD card or internal memory?
2) How do I move apps between the SD card and internal memory?

Thanks.

Apps only use Application Storage or Media Storage (internal memory) on our phones. There is no way to move them to SD, the Media move option replaced that. You can see where they're stored from Manage Apps and going into each application. It'll either say "Move to phone" or "Move to media area". Between Application Storage and Media Storage you have 12.5GB of space, so there should be no problems with insufficient space.

Its still stupid. This happens to some large games I have on my home screens. They always disappear. I plug in my phone every day to my pc and they should really fix this. :(
don't you just love android quirks!!!

Using a different launcher should solve this problem. Also why are you not selecting "charge only" mode when you plug your phone in?

Because sometimes people need to sync files via USB, and this bug should not be happening. Those apps should never "permanently" disappear from the homescreens.

I had an Android 2 and when I connected the USB the SD card apps simply weren't available and the icon changed to a generic icon. Once I unplugged it, they returned. Why didn't they do the same with the 3? I agree, very frustrating.
