Root Disappearing SIM Card

My SIM card keeps disappearing on my phone...

I can open the back of the phone, take it out, put it back in, and restart, and it works for a while...and then it screws-up again...

I'm rooted and using Liquid Smooth...

Since I'm rooted, and it's about a year old, I can't return it to Verizon for repair or replacement...

Can anyone help?

Unroot it and send it back

Will they replace it even if I unroot it? I'd hate to go through that trouble if they won't...

Do rooted phones tend to have these problems? Certain ROMs more than others?

How do I even go about contacting Verizon about this?

Here's what I'm afraid of...

I unroot it, take it to Verizon, and they can't duplicate the problem...

Have you tried another SIM card to see if the problem is duplicated? Perhaps trying another ROM would be in order. I had problems with a couple ROM's not playing nice with my SIM card, but others are just fine.

You need to test with another sim card. DO NOT UNROOT. This EXACT same thing happened to me on my old Incredible. Turns out I had corrupted the sim card by improperly dismounting it from my cpu once and I had to reformat the sim card to fix the problem. You should try a different sim or format your sim and try that before unrooting.

I do it in cwm in the storage/mounts section. I believe you can also do it from the phone's storage and mounts menu in the settings. There is an option to format the card I think. It would be best to test with another card first, since formatting erases the card. Otherwise I would back everything up on the card and then try formatting.

Coupla questions...

Where would I get another SIM card?

Or if I wanted to format mine, how would I back it up before doing so?

There is no option to format your SIM card is cwm.
I think you are talking about the SD card.
If your SIM is bonked take it into a VZW store for exchange.
