Help Disappearing widgets

I've had my Acer Iconia A500 for 6 months now and have been very pleased with it. Just recently, the widgets I had on my desktop (standard browser and clock widgets) disappeared. When I try to add them back, I get the message that there is no room on my desktop, so I assume they are still there but I can't see them. Obviously, I can't remove them to make room as I can't see them! Is there a way to clear the desktop and start again? Or is there another way to fix this?

I'm not at all familiar with the inner workings of these things, so I hope there is a solution that does not require great IT knowledge.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

If you press and hold on the area where they should be, does it bring up the "remove" icon ?

Beyond that, I suppose you could go into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications .

Select All tab.

Scroll down to Launcher. Try hitting the Clear Data button. Hopefully this will reset your Launcher to default settings.

Then, just set up your icons and widgets again. Kind of a pain having to reset them, but generally don't take very long.

Personally, I dropped the stock launcher and went with ADWLauncher EX ($3.00 or so) and I noticed a big difference in desktop performance and HUGE difference in looks.
