discharging even when plugged in?

I've had the LG Optimus L7 for about three months and yesterday I noticed that when I plugged the phone in to charge, it was charging very slowly. Now, it doesn't seem to be charging much at all - in fact, it is losing charge.

I'm using a USB cord, connected to a power adapter, and usually it charges without fault this way.

I'm aware that a possibility for this is that the phone is using more power than the charger can provide, but since I've been charging this way for a while and haven't changed my habits in regards to phone use, I've pretty much ruled this out.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love some help.

Thankyou!:D

i had the same thing happen with a car charger i had... once worked fine then all the sudden it was draining while plugged in. solution was to buy a new charger, and havent had any problems after that.

The only thing I can think of is you need to trouble shoot the cord and the adapter.

- plug the charging cord direct into a computer. If that works the problem is the adapter
- if the above does not work, you need to try a new USB cord
- You could also change the AC adapter first and use the cord you are now. I often buy the cheap USB to AC adapters on ebay and those all seem to fail eventually.

This is a sign your charger is going bad.

My advice, buy a charger made specifically for your phone, not the cheap $5 from Walmart.

Its better in the long run because the more expensive will last longer and it will charge up faster since it was made for your phone unlike the generic chargers that are a "works on all droids".
