Help Disconnecting/Unmounting USB device

I connected a USB thumbdrive in my Zenithink, I don't know how to properly unmount it before i un-attatch the USB drive. Is there a proper way on doing it. I'm talking about a USB drive not an SD card.
What I do is just pull it off but it always says "Udisk unexpectedly removed".
Can anyone please help? Thanks.
 
Uhhh. I'm sorry if i didn't make it clear, but I was asking how to unmount it properly on the zenithink tablet :). Thanks t0ast3d
