Does anyone else think this is a good indication that new information will be coming out regarding the Fighter/HD? I thought ICS might be held from other Moto devices until the HD/Fighter came out, or was at least announced.

I don't think that tells us anything really. Some angry comments in that article, makes me think twice about getting a Motorola phone if they are going to continue to but out a better version every 4 months and stop support on devices so quickly.

You know, if you go to Amazon.com and type in the search box "Motorola Maxx HD" or "Motorola Fighter" it will pull up a list of accesories for both. The interesting thing about the Maxx HD listing is a dock

That says the box includes an adapter for the RAZR Maxx.

What does all this mean? Your guess is a good as mine.

But I think it was intended as this:

I believe there is an HD dock and regular dock depending on if you want the HDMI out to work. I know my Xoom has both a regular and "HD" dock available.

I agree, the products are the "HD Dock" and "HD Station" and they are compatible with the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX, so the "HD" is part of the product name rather than being part of the name of the compatible devices.

Between the Microsoft Intellectual Property allegations, the Motorola-Google merger and Verizon's trying to decide what to do in regards to data plans, there appear to be several possible factors delaying the introduction of the Droid Fighter. The immediate question seems to be whether all of the relevant factors can be resolved in time to let people get the DF (like that won't result in some jokes) before the data plans change.

I just want some type of formal announcement as to when it is expected to be out so I can make my decision. I would like to wait for the Droid Razr HD but if it isn't coming out for quite some time, i will be pre-ordering the Galaxy S3. My Droid X is killing me.

Sure, that a logical possibilty, hence my statement "Your guess is as good as mine"..... and you could be 100% correct.

But I, like so many people here, would just like some official, or even semi-official info regarding the Maxx HD/Fighter. Like somebody else said now that China has approved the sale (thier approval was the last hurdle) of Motorola Mobility to Google, maybe some good info will be soon forthcoming. Sure hope so anyway. :thumbup:

Any info on this phone would be amazing. I love my DROID X but its starting to show its age. Slow boot up time, battery door dosent stay on, battery life is less than a few hours even when its in sleep/standby. Plus I might be able to watch maybe 30 minutes on video on wifi before its screaming to be charged up. I've tried custom roms but that didn't seem to help at all. And it has taken me minutes to type this because the keyboard is super laggy. Here's hoping to atleast some clue that this phone exists and it's actually coming soon.

My two local stores, as well as the 800 number know nothing about it, but that doesn't surprise me.

I called my local store though I'm not sure if it was someone local who I spoke to. I selected sales so it could have been a call center. She knew nothing about the Fighter and said if they haven't been trained on it they don't know anything. I'm not sure I want to wait that long on a rumor. Is there anything available that compares the Razr Maxx to the rumored Fighter specs?

Yes, can be both. I asked my local Motorola store, they even can not distinguish between GPS and GLONASS. I asked about the GLONASS on the RAZR and they answered me that "you have to pay for that service". LOL.. some stores are not really technically competence. they are just business people so no wonder they make mistake.

I can't speak to all your problems but your battery problems are most like a wornout battery. Lithum-ion batteries are only good for approximately 500 chargings. If you got your "X" anywhere near it's original launce date, you battery has seen lots of chargings.

While I agree that most reps aren't technically savvy, GPS vs. GLONASS is hardly a softball question. BUT, they shouldn't have tried to cover that up with a silly "you got to pay for dat" response. I only rely on their knowledge with Verizon-specific things, like contracts and prices.

Back to the topic at hand. Anyone remember how much info on the Razr leaked before it's official announcement? I wonder if the lack of info means it's a long way off, doesn't even exist, or Moto has got better (or always was good) at leak control??

If you got your "X" anywhere near it's original launce date, you battery has seen lots of chargings.

I just replaced my launch-day X's battery. The original was clearly swollen in the center. I didn't realize how bad until I compared it to the new one.

Me too. I didn't notice that my original was swollen, the charge on mine would fall off fast after it hit about 50%. The new one from Amazon stays strong all the way down the low battery warning.

Not sure about the Razr, but I was looking back at the early DX threads, and they started in March with the launch in July. I think the official announcement of the DX was in late June. I am guessing a possible similar plan for the Fighter/HD?

You are all dreaming if you think the Fighter/HD will be released in June.

Look at the Inc4g thread. That phone appears to be way further along (way more leaks, exact specs known, webpages, pictures, etc.) and no one has any clue when that will be released yet.
