dish pro

I wouldn't trust using an app for something that requires some high tech technology to get an accurate reading from the satellite to the dish.

It's got 3 stars for a reason :)

I don't see how that app is of any use. It may give you incredibly accurate dish-pointing settings, but ultimately you just have to move the dish around by hand (which isn't that accurate). So you can just do what everybody has been doing for many years.
1) Go to Dish's website and get the coordinates for your zip code.
2) Put your receiver in the dish pointing mode.
3) Turn your TV's volume up.
4) Leave your window open (or use a cordless phone or walkie-talkie to transmit the audio-feedback signal).
5) Take a compass with you tot he dish. (You can use the Ulysee Gizmos free app.)
6) Point the dish according to the coordinates in step #1.
7) Move the dish around until you hear the signal feedback-beeping as fast as you can make it.
8) Tighten the bolts there.
9) Enjoy.

I've done it twice. It's easy.
