Its great! Its actually a feature! If you long press the notification bar then sliding the bar left and right will increase/decrease the brightness accordingly, allowing quick brightness changing. In 2.2.1 they increased the length of the long press required to activate the brightness changing, which makes it hard to do accidentally. Usually once people are aware of how it works they actually like having it
i too like the quick bright feature from the notification bar but i am with the OP in that sometimes the brightness is increased (using some apps perhaps) but doesnt revert back to the default.
i' m only using 2.2 right now and just putting it down to yet another android glitch that the next update will cure. or maybe the one after that..
