Help Display lag when turning off screen

I've noticed that when I press the side button to turn off the screen, there is a delay where the screen slightly dims but remains on for a second before it goes off. I don't think it used to do this prior to a system update I installed about two weeks ago.

Is there a setting I need to change to stop this and make the screen go off immediately instead of having this lag/delay?
