Divx files not playing...

Maybe they weren't compressed properly. I didn't realize that the phone supported divx, but I have been converting videos to h.264 with a lot of success. Handbrake is a good utility for that, if you need one.

Ive been playing a bunch of various videos like divx, xvid and mp4 containers with success. However there have been an occasional .mp4 that would say "unsupported Format". There was a couple of .mkv videos that had no audio output but video worked fine.
It could be the framerate, Bitrate, resolution, whatever, but the player definitely has a taste for some videos rather than others. Supposedly it should play "video codecs include mpeg4, H.264, H.263, Sorenson codec, DivX HD/ XviD (the first mobile phone to do so), VC-1 and supported video formats include 3GP (MPEG-4), WMV (Advanced Systems Format), AVI (divx), MKV and FLV"

I have some DivX movies that won't play. I too am getting the "Unsupported file type".

According to GSpot:

File Length Correct
OpenDML (AVI v2.0)
Interleave: 1 vid frame (40 ms), preload=72
Audio frames: Split across interleaves
Video: 247 MB (88.45%)
Audio: 30.5 MB (10.90%)
AVI Overhead: 1.83 MB (0.65%)

Audio codec: 0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3
Video codec: DX50 Name: DivX 5.x/6.x

Can anyone identify why this won't play?

For me, mp4 files and xvid are playing fine, but I have big file sizes like 800-1100mbs. Anyone else have smaller or is this because of the resolution increase?
