Hey guys I've read through several threads but didn't see a direct answer to this question.

Has DJ09 been rolled out to ALL markets and SF phones? I could not get my SF to update and after spending hours on the phone with level 2 VZW support they suggested that I exchange it for a new one (I am on day 21 with the SF) I did exchange it and the new one is still running on DI01 and also, will not update. I was told there is a bad batch of SF's ... 10,000 of them. Am I safe to assume since it's been over 3 weeks that DJ09 has been pushed to all SF users? The demo phone at VZW was on DJ09. I am stock out-of-box.

Thoughts please! :confused:
 
I had the same problem and somewhere on a thread here I read that you can't update with wifi on. It has to update via the network. Once I disabled wifi and enabled the network, BINGO, update.

Yes I read the same thing. No joy! In fact I tried updating from the VZW store and again no joy! The VZW rep told me sometimes it takes a bit. But rep at a different store told me it should prompt for update as soon as you power up a new phone. :confused:
 
Technically its DL09 ;) but yes it was rolled out officially but since it breaks some stuff it appears to have been pulled. Now mind you its available if you have clockwork. Also available is the never officially released DJ05 modem. They are interchangable

gotcha, thanks Saps! I may just bite the bullet and decide to keep the SF ... looks like I have some reading to do on how to root! :)
 
I'd still swap it out. I bought mine a week ago or so, and before I had a chance to play with it much, DL09 was downloaded, and asking me to install.

I think this might be a portent of a bad phone, giving you headaches down the road. So, I suggest exchanging it out like-for-like.
 
I'm very interested to see what happens with your update. I purchased my Fascinate last Friday and have been checking for updates daily, but like you I get the "no new software update available" message. I really like the phone and everything seems to work great with DI01, even the GPS functions very well, but I'm afraid that if they ever do roll out Froyo the phone won't see the update for that either. Keep us posted on what happens with yours. Thanks.

the way suxor explained it earlier, it seems that when the 2.2 ota eventually does come out, it wont matter what version of 2.1 you are on...it ll update you straight to 2.2

I'm concerned about being able to receive the update at all if it does come out. I still can't update to 2.1 DL09 because I keep getting the no software update available message. What is making me nervous is the person that posted about receiving the prompt to update when first booting up his phone. I've spoken to customer service and they told me to hang tight, but if I don't have the update by next week the phone may be going back. I don't want to risk owning a phone that will not update.
 
Ok, update to my post.

After flashing back to stock, I have yet to see an update roll through. But, I have gotten some txt messages saying there is an issue with DL09.

That gives me some hope. i also received those texts today, so maybe they are waiting to get the bugs worked out before they push additional DL09 updates through. I suppose I'll cross my fingers for now. Did you by any chance try to initiate the update through the settings menu to see if it was available?

Yeah, about 3 times today. Nada...
