Help DLNA output from EPIC.. tried imediashare

I have some panasonic dvd player with DLNA, it plays video from my windows media 12 server very nicely.

I downloaded imediashare and my player sees the device and can play pictures and music from the phone, but no luck playing 3pg or mp4 video files from the phone. Just says cannot play. Also tried to play what's playing, but no luck either.
 
I ran into a problem with my PS3. The problem is your device only acts as a file transfer. Your not actually playing them on your phone.
The device that is playing them needs to support the file its trying to play.
If you can see other files and play them its working properly.

If I copy the videos from my android to my windows server they play fine via DLNA on the Panasonic DMP BDT110P

Yeah it seems like DLNA is working fine from phone. Im even getting information about files. Just can't play videos.
 
Just tried Allshare. From the Panasonic DMP bdt110p I can see my GalaxyS EPIC, can navigate folders. Can play picitures and audio, can see all video files and information, but when I attempt to play a video, it says cannot connect - check network connnect. Actually, this not the error I get when I to play a format unsupported by the Panasonic DVD player - that error is usually cannot open file or cannont play file.

I'm doing all of this inside my network over wifi. Do I need to open or route some special port?

It's almost as if my Samsung EPIC on 2.2.1 can't serve the video.
 
Well.. I'll never know why this was not working no the Pansonic DVD Blu Ray.. but as luck would have it, I was in Best buy and noticed a nice deal on a Samsung Blu Ray with 5.1 surrond sound and the manager agreed to credit me the full cost of the Panasonic (which I bought 45 days ago), I purchased the Samsung .. and under the Samsung, everything plays .. from my phone, from WMP.. even mpeg-4 stuff that never played on the Panasonic.
 
That's a decent solution as well, to just get samsung to samsung.

I've not tried to grab from the phone via another device to play. I've always used my phone as the sender to send it to my TV (samsung of course), or used my phone to send from my desktop computer to my TV. All that using Allshare though.
