Root DLNA support for GB MIUI based roms

Android Enthusiast
Hello there - I have been looking high and low for this. Does DLNA work on any GB MIUI builds? I have the apk backed up but its for the pre GB MIUI. If this isn't possible is there any other apps out there that are similar? I know MIUI has FTP and I'm having trouble with ASTRO's file sharing (vista) network communication. I've read you can get the app out of some other roms but I don't want to end up with a bootloop due to complications with the build. ANY help would be appreciated, I really wish the stock music player would log onto my wifi network but from what I can tell it doesn't -

Thanks in advance!!! I'm running the MIUI version in my sig - THANKS!

OK, let me put this another way - I need to be able to push and pull files onto my phone from my xp or vista machine, I ALSO need to play the same files, as I was able to with DLNA - any takers? TIA

you would need to be stock gb, rooted or non rooted, but dlna is on stock moto gb

So even if I do pull the apk from .602 I couldn't install it on my ROM right? I know the framework is built from GB but I wasn't sure if it would cause problems, same goes for "Media Share", which I think works hand in hand with the DLNA service.

And yeah, you'd be surprised - I just always found it to be the easiest way to tap into your connected network, and I have a few components that are DLNA compatible, WMP also REALLY likes it, never had a problem with I/O commands with the stock DLNA app opposed to others out there - I've gotten Astro SMB module to create a connection but I'm having share issues on my vista machine, XP no problem but there's not really any instructions and just "leaving the fields blank" just doesn't fly with me. MIUI's FTP service is really nice though, I'm in the process of trying to get it to do some of the task I need that DLNA did for me. I also have winamp, but I'd rather not have all these media players on both ends just to accommodate simple remote media and streaming music -

Anyone know of a good media controller/stream/browser app out there? I've been looking but each has strong and weak points, weak over-weighing the strong unfortunately - Thanks for the response, more are certainly welcome -

TIA!

its a blur app, it wont work

OK, its MOTO not Android eh, basically "bloat"? well crud, thanks for clearing that up though - much thanks. Not arguing but what about the clock/dock app installed on MIUI? its the same that was on blur, or is it droid? Just trying to get a better grasp on how these things work so I can better my phone to my liking ya know -

Again thanks! I'll search around for some media share/wireless streaming apps in the meantime, I guess this also includes the app "Media Share" too huh?

Again thanks!
